Vinaròs "Trocet de Cel"!

Vinaròs is a small town with approx. 27,000 inhabitants in the province of Castellon and the region of Valencia. The romantic little town lies along the steep coast of the Costa de Azahar. It has many beautiful, fine pebble beaches and bays. Below the elegant promenade in the city centre there is a very large, fine sandy beach where you can stroll all day long.

 

At the historical market in the town center, you can buy regional delicacies. Vinaròs is well-known for its king prawns and lobsters, hence, there is the beautiful "Fiesta del Langoustine " (" king prawns party ") in August.

 

Many very good restaurants cater for all tastes and everybody will invite you to try the delicacies of the region.

 

During the summer months you can visit the old bullfight arena where bullfights and concerts take place.

 

Vinaròs is also well- known for its carnival which takes place every year in February. Up to 30,000 visitors come to celebrate the carnival during the 10 days, and on the last weekend, follow the approx. 3 kilometer long carnival procession.

 

Of course there is also an interesting cultural program in the region of "Baix Maestrat" all around Vinaròs, for example in the small town of Peniscola, a favourite for tourists, the main attraction is the small medieval 13th century town with its Templar castle "Papa Luna".

 

In the immediate vicinity of Vinaròs is the ‘Ebro Delta’ natural park, a must see for all nature lovers.

 

The region of the "Baix Maestrat" is also a beautiful excursion destination perfect for hikers and canoeists.
